So I bought the soundtrack but I thought I would share it with everyone else.

Yes, I’m fuming internally at SingPost (Singapore Post) and their delivery service.

What happened is that, my cousin from Australia ordered something from Germany and had it sent over to my place in Singapore.
He was hoping to save some money by having his father, who comes to Singapore frequently for work, bring the parcel back for him.

The item was shipped out from Germany via Deutsche Post on the 31st October. My Uncle visited around the 12-15th November and was surprised the article had not reached yet. We used the SingPost website and tried to track the parcel, but the SingPost website could not find the tracking number.

Eventually, my uncle left and a week later and I finally decided to drop my lazy butt by Toa Payoh Post Office and ask about the status of the delivery. As expected, just as I could not track the delivery on the SingPost website, the staff was unable to find the parcel.

His explanation was that the article has not reached Singapore yet, thus it has not been registered in the SingPost Tracking system.
He also told me that once the item has reached Singapore, I would be able to track it on the SingPost website myself.

With many thanks, I left and decided that perhaps the delivery was taking longer than normal because of the Christmas season.

That was until yesterday.

My cousin’s sister-in-law suddenly called from Australia and told me that she has been tracking the delivery on the SingPost website and the website now suddenly says that the article is being processed at the Singapore Post Office.

I was surprised to be suddenly able to track the article, and to see that the article has reached Singapore on the 6th November, and has even had an unsuccessful delivery on the 14th November.

I hurried down to the post office. The staff who had helpfully attended to me during my last visit was not around but the manager appeared to be. He quickly tracked my parcel but things took a turn when he brought me to another side of the counter and informed me apologetically that the item may have been sent back to the sender in Germany because no one has claimed it.

I explained to him about my visit a week ago, he seemed to know something about it (or I might be thinking to much into it?) But being nice, I didn’t push him for the reason as to why I was not informed of the apparent failed delivery and the wrong informaton given to me by his staff a week ago.

He helpfully wrote in an enquiry email to the SingPost HQ requesting for the item to be stopped from its delivery back to Germany and told me that I would be updated via email.

So far till yesterday, I was honestly disappointed by the strange outcome but I just shrugged it off. I appreciated the help provided by the staff and manager, even if I wasn’t sure exactly where went wrong. But systems are not perfect and I’m not the kind to go pointing fingers and name names. I prefer productivity and just wanted to receive my cousin’s stuff asap.

Until today, I received the below email from the HQ Customer Service.

And they’ve suddenly been really quick in updating their system too.

And that’s the email which made me blew my top off.

1. Delivery unsuccessful
I wonder how it failed, wrong address or what?
Please don’t even tell me no one was at home to collect because I pretty much hikkikomori at home since I’m not working, and my dad and mom works from home too. And I not only have a doorbell, I have a dog who thinks he’s a doorbell. So there.

2. So the item has been ready for collection since the 15th huh?
YET when I visited Toa Payoh Post Office near the end of November, the article was untrackable on the website and the staff told me that it probably hasn’t reached Singapore yet.

3. Despite our reminder… article has remain unclaimed for the past 10 days.
Just who did these guys send their reminder to? To date, I’ve gotten zilch, zero, nothing, kosong reminders, whether they are in the form of phone calls, sms, emails, physical papers, knocking on the door etc. Hell, I didn’t even know there was a failed delivery!

And the main point is still, if it has reached Singapore on the 6th November and has been sitting in your damn office since the 15th November, why did your staff tell me that it’s not in Singapore and why was it not in your bloody tracking system and where did you even send your reminders to?! 

I’m not on a witchhunt or anything.
I’m not interested in who or what screwed up the delivery AND reminders but don’t come telling me that it’s my fault for not collecting and that you are going to end off the case by saying that it’s out of your hands floating in the deep blue ocean now.

I just want my cousin’s parcel, now.

Also, did I mention that recently they keep stuffing my neighbour’s letters (from another block)  into our post box?
